Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect only what the platform needs to run:

• Account information: your name, email address, and the role you join as (student, CFI, or recruiter). Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and never stored by us.
• Profile details you choose to add: university, major, GPA, flight hours, certifications, career ambitions, graduation year, profile photo and banner, and, for recruiters, company, position, and company logo. Your phone number is used solely to deliver push notifications.
• Content you create: channel posts, learning discussions, endorsements, follows, and private messages, including images you attach.
• Verification documents: if you request a Verified badge, the logbook photo and GPA screenshot you upload. These are stored privately and are visible only to our review team.
• Payment information: purchases are processed by our payment provider. We store only the order status, product, amount, and subscription state needed to grant access. We never see or store your card number.
• Usage information: basic analytics events such as which features are used, to keep the app working and to prevent abuse.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to operate your account, display your profile to members you choose to be visible to, verify claimed flight hours and GPA, power rankings and endorsements, and send the notifications you explicitly opted into. We do not sell your personal information.

3. AI features and disclosure

AeroElite uses AI features. Parts of this app are AI-generated and are labeled as study aids:

• Practice questions and flashcards are drafted from public-domain FAA handbooks using AI, and reviewed before publishing. They may contain errors; always verify against official FAA publications.
• The daily community digest is summarized by AI from public activity in the app.
• The ATC practice simulator uses synthetic, AI-generated tower voices. The simulator is a training aid, not real air traffic control.

4. Third-party services

Your data is processed by these services, each under its own privacy policy:

• Base44: hosting, sign-in and account management, database storage, file storage, email delivery, in-app analytics, and the AI gateway that powers the features above.
• Wix, under the name Base44 Payments: checkout, subscription billing, and payment processing.
• Google and Apple: optional single sign-in for your account.
• AI providers behind Base44's AI gateway, which may include OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, process the prompts used for the AI features described above. Your private messages and verification documents are not sent to AI providers.
• Wikimedia Commons: publicly hosted university logo images shown on profile photos and the landing page.

5. Notifications and consent

Email and push notifications are off by default. We send them only to members who turn them on in their profile, and we record the date and time of that consent. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time from your profile. Withdrawing consent stops all notification emails and pushes immediately.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. Profile photos, banners, and posts you publish are stored publicly so they can be displayed across the app; verification documents and message attachments are stored privately with access limited to you and our review team.

You can delete your account at any time with the Delete my account button in your profile. Deleting your account removes your profile, posts, messages, follows, endorsements, achievements, quiz history, and uploaded files from our systems immediately, and in no case later than 30 days after deletion. Some copies may persist in encrypted backups for a short period before expiring.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and every data type in the app is protected by access rules so members can only read and change their own records. Sensitive uploads are stored privately. No online service can promise perfect security, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your information.

8. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information at any time from your profile page, or by contacting us through the app. You can also ask us for a copy of your data. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, such as the GDPR or CCPA, you may exercise them by contacting us through the app.

9. Children

AeroElite is intended for aviation students and professionals. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and notify you in the app. Continued use of AeroElite after a change means you accept the updated policy.
